Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), and Srinivas BV, a Congress leader, strongly criticized the BJP-led government at the Centre following a tragic incident on the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Express. In this incident, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable shot dead four people on board the train. Both Owaisi and Srinivas BV condemned the act as a "hate crime" and shared a video that purportedly showed the constable with a dead body in front of him.
In the video, a man in a khaki uniform is seen addressing passengers, but his speech is not clearly audible, and the video's authenticity has not been independently verified by India Today.
Asaduddin Owaisi described the incident as a "terror attack" specifically targeting Muslims. He attributed it to continuous anti-Muslim hate speech and criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's perceived unwillingness to address it. Owaisi also raised concerns about whether the accused constable might receive support from the government, potentially even becoming a future BJP candidate.
Congress leader Srinivas BV expressed his distress over the incident, stating that it highlights the current situation of the country, which, according to him, has been engulfed in "fires of hatred."
The victims of this tragic incident were identified as Abdul Qadirbhai Mohammed Hussain Bhanpurwala (48), Akhtar Abbas Ali (48), and Sadar Mohammed Hussain.
The accused constable was apprehended by Government Railway Police (GRP) officers while attempting to flee after pulling the train's chain. He has been arrested in connection with the crime.
