Union Minister Nityanand Rai attributes Prime Minister Narendra Modi's unmatched influence for the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) sizable lead in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Currently leading from Sircilla constituency is KTR, the son of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He had won the seat by a margin of more than 89,000 votes in the 2018 election.
Congress Set to Form Government
The Congress is expected to form the next government as it leads with 64 seats, more than the majority required, according to the most recent data from the Election Commission of India. The BRS, which was led by K Chandrashekar Rao for ten years after the party's founding, is about to cede power.
Sweeping the Polls With 88 Seats in High Hopes
Rao, also known as KCR, had swept the polls with 88 seats in 2018, and he had been hoping for a hat-trick this time. The Congress, under the state leadership of Revanth Reddy, waged a vigorous campaign to remove the sitting chief minister.
