“My entire family was heartbroken. It was a ‘Biswasgath’ to the Bengali people. Why can a Bengali not be a cabinet minister in Delhi? I don’t need any acknowledgement. I have been elected from Asansol twice,” Supriyo said.

Supriyo further added, “You have a ministry which is running for eight years. You have 18 MPs elected from Bengal. Why do you think Bengalis are so incapable that you cannot have a full-time minister from Bengal?”

“Responsibly has been given to me by Didi. I touched her feet today. My second innings will be brighter than the first innings,” Supriyo said.
