Maharashtra's home minister Anil Deshmukh, who was surrounded by allegations of former Mumbai police commissioner Parambir Singh, has resigned from his post.

Deshmukh has said in his resignation to the Chief Minister that he is submitting his resignation after the order of the Bombay High Court is not appropriate for him to continue as the Home Minister.

Shortly before the Bombay High Court has asked the CBI to start a preliminary inquiry within 15 days on the allegations of corruption made by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

Minister in Maharashtra government and NCP leader Nawab Malik said that after the High Court order, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh met Sharad Pawar and party leaders and said that he does not want to continue in his post.

He went to the Chief Minister to submit his resignation. The party has requested the Chief Minister to accept his resignation.

The court said on Monday, "We agree that this is an unprecedented case before the court .. Patriot is the home minister who leads the police …. There should be independent investigation …But the CBI does not need to file an FIR immediately. ''

On March 25, Singh filed a criminal PIL requesting a CBI inquiry against Deshmukh, in which he claimed that Home Minister Deshmukh got Rs 100 crore from bar and restaurant to other police officers including suspended police officer Sachin Vaze Asked to make a recovery.

The remaining petitions were also filed around the same time. The minister has denied these allegations. Singh's lawyer Vikram Nanakani argued that the entire police force was discouraged and was acting under pressure due to the interference of the leaders .
