TMC general secretary and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee arrived at the Enforcement Directorate’s office in Delhi on Monday for questioning on money laundering charges related to the alleged coal scam in West Bengal. Talking to the media, Abhishek said that he was issued a notice for questioning by the ED, on the basis of which he appeared before the ED. He said that he would fully cooperate with the central agency in the investigation.
However, now information is coming that Banerjee was questioned by the ED for about nine hours. Abhishek Banerjee, who came out of the office answering ED’s questions, directly attacked the BJP. He said that whoever fights against BJP is harassed. This matter has come out from Kolkata, I have been summoned to Delhi. I am being asked questions continuously for the last 8 hours. From day one, I am asking for the evidence against me, if any, to be made public.
Banerjee said that if BJP feels that it can scare TMC by doing all this, if they think TMC will also give up like Congress and other parties, then we will fight more strongly. We will go to every state where they (BJP) have killed democracy.
He said that the dictatorship of BJP will be defeated. Let BJP use all its strength, enthusiasm, threats and resources, heed my words, their resources are about to run out. TMC will defeat BJP in the next elections. He said that I was questioned and answered for nine hours. If there is evidence against me that I have done a transaction of even 10 paise then hang me, I am ready. BJP harass those who fight against BJP.
He said that if there is any evidence against me, then bring it in front of the people. BJP feels that like other parties, TMC will be scared, will sit in the house. Uproot whatever you want to uproot. TMC will go to every state where BJP is in power. Do whatever you have to do, Trinamool Congress will defeat you in 2024. We will not bow down to these autocrats and cowards who cannot defeat us politically. 25 BJP MLAs are in line to join the party, but we are not taking them.
