Congress MLA Vikram Mandavi's Convoy Attacked By Naxals

Maoists attacked Congress MLA Vikram Mandavi's convoy in Chhattisgarh's Naxal-affected Bijapur district. Naxalites also fired indiscriminately in the vehicle of District Panchayat member Parvati Kashyap, who was included in the convoy. The incident took place when all the Congress leaders, including the MLA, were returning to the headquarters after holding a street corner meeting in Gangalur Haat market, a Naxal-affected area of the district. Meanwhile, the Naxalites opened fire on the convoy near Padeda village.

Police intensified the search operation in the area

Although there was no casualty due to the firing of Naxalites and all the people involved in the convoy are said to be safe. Here, after the incident, the police has intensified the search in the area, along with the MLA, a large number of police forces have been deployed. However, till now it is not known which area committee of Naxalites has carried out this incident.

Even before this, in the year 2019, BJP MLA from Dantewada Bhima Mandavi was attacked by Naxalites and in this attack, BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi was killed on the spot. At the same time, in Bijapur, the convoy of former BJP Forest Minister and MLA Mahesh Gagda was also attacked by Naxalites, in which the former MLA narrowly escaped.

On the other hand, on Tuesday, the Naxalites once again fired on Congress MLA Vikram Mandavi to target his convoy, which narrowly saved him. At present, after this incident, the Bastar Police has dispatched the police force for the spot and continuous searches are being done in the area.

Naxalite killed in encounter in Bijapur, two arrested

On the other hand, this morning there was a tremendous encounter between the police and the Naxalites in the Kachalawari area of Naxal-affected Bijapur district. In this encounter, the police personnel killed a Naxalite. At the same time, two Naxalites including one injured have also been arrested from the spot. After this encounter in the core area, the jawans are continuously searching in the area.
