Congress: More States To Pass Resolution To Elect Rahul Gandhi as The Congress Chief

Congress: With more state units signing resolutions in support of the previous party leader, Rahul Gandhi, the chorus calling for him to take over as president of the Congress is becoming louder. The first state organisation to support Rahul Gandhi’s bid to take over as party leader was Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee.
Seven different state units have now adopted similar resolutions calling for Rahul Gandhi to lead Congress operations. When Rahul Gandhi was elected as the Congress president in 2017, state units had already adopted a comparable resolution.

Apart from Rajasthan, seven other state units pass the resolution

The chorus asking for Rahul Gandhi to succeed as Congress president is growing louder as more state units sign resolutions endorsing the former party leader. Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee was the first state organisation to back Rahul Gandhi’s campaign for party leader.
Similar resolutions have already been accepted by seven separate state units, all of which demand that Rahul Gandhi serve as the Congress’s president. State units had already endorsed a corresponding resolution by the time Rahul Gandhi was chosen as the next Congress president in 2017.

Rahul Gandhi’s return was also demanded in council meetings on Monday night by the Maharashtra and J&K Congress units.
Sources claim that the Himachal Pradesh state unit would adopt a comparable resolution at its meeting on September 19.
Regarding the Congress President election, Rahul Gandhi has so far kept his options open. The Gandhi scion’s lone hint came when he told the reporters in Kanyakumari that if he does not submit a candidacy, he will be questioned why he is opposed to becoming leader and will respond.
If there is only one candidate, the nomination period for the presidential election for Congress begins on September 24 and ends on October 2.
