The date of Delhi Municipal Corporation election has been announced. The date of election for Delhi Municipal Corporation has been fixed on December 4. While the counting of votes will be done on December 7. The announcement was made by the Election Commission today. The model code of conduct has come into force as soon as the date of the election is announced.
It is worth mentioning that after the integration, elections will be held on 250 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Earlier the Municipal Corporation of Delhi was divided into three parts and there were 272 wards in total. However, in the new delimitation, the number of wards has been reduced from 272 to 250.
Announcing the dates, Delhi Election Commissioner Vijay Dev said that according to the 2011 census in 250 wards, 42 seats have been reserved for SC, while 21 seats have been reserved for women. 104 seats have been reserved separately for women. There will be a total of 13665 polling stations. EVMs will be used in elections.
Vijay Dev said that on the day of the election, more than 2 thousand sector magistrates will be deployed. There will be 68 general observers in each assembly. There will be videography everywhere.

Holidays of officers and employees have been canceled.
On the other hand, the DelhiState Election Commission has canceled the leave of all the officers and employees who came under it for the MCD elections. The Election Commission has said that he can go on leave only if there is a compulsion, but approval will have to be taken from the commission in this regard. The Election Commission has appointed 68 Returning Officers and 250 Assistant Returning Officers in connection with the elections. Apart from this, a large number of officers and employees are appointed under these officers and also in the office of the Commission.
