Delhi LG VK Saxena recommends action against former Delhi Waqf CEO

Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena appointed IAS officer from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and former CEO of Delhi Waqf Board S. disciplinary action has been recommended against M. Ali for allowing the board to pass an “illegal” resolution.

This information was given by the sources of the Lieutenant Governor’s office on Monday.

Sources said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has accused Ali of not resisting “illegal” proposals during his tenure as CEO of the board in which the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and several other contractual employees were hired.

Delhi LG recommends action against ex-Delhi Waqf CEO

Sources said that the Lt Governor has recommended disciplinary action under Rule 16 of the Central Civil Services, Rules 1965.

Sources claimed that the ongoing CBI probe against Waqf Board chairman Amanatullah Khan has revealed that Ali executed an “illegal” resolution passed by the board for the appointment of Mehboob Alam as CEO and named him as his successor. As the charge was formally handed over.

He said that the advertisement published for the post of CEO is in violation of Delhi Waqf Act and Rules. Sources said this also became the basis for hiring other employees on contract basis. He said Ali was the CEO of the Delhi Waqf Board when the advertisement was published and the recruitment was made.

Sources said the board not only approved the “illegal” advertisement with retrospective effect, but also approved the “illegal” appointment of Alam as CEO on the basis of the advertisement.
