The son of Purvanchal mafia Mukhtar Ansari and Subhaspa MLA Abbas Ansari has been allegedly arrested by the ED. The Prayagraj unit of the ED has made the alleged arrest of Abbas Ansari in a dramatic fashion. Abbas Ansari was in the ED’s custody for nearly nine hours before his arrest. Before arresting him, the ED had also interrogated Abbas for nine hours.
MLA Abbas Ansari has been arrested in the money laundering case. After the alleged arrest of Abbas Ansari, now the ED can tighten the legal grip on Mukhtar Ansari’s family members by taking them into custody soon. The ED had also issued a lookout notice against MLA Abbas Ansari and his mother Afshan Ansari a few days ago. So far, the ED has not made a formal announcement of the arrest.
The ED feared that Abbas and Afshan Ansari might flee abroad to avoid arrest in the money laundering case. The ED may have arrested Abbas Ansari but released his driver Ravi Kumar Sharma after an hour and a half of interrogation. However, earlier in May also, Abbas had questioned Ansari. The ED team took Abbas Ansari to a safe place with two vehicles.
Along with the ED, many police vehicles were also involved. ED has arrested Abbas Ansari in the money laundering case. At present, the detention has been confirmed. Abbas Ansari was being questioned at the ED’s office in Prayagraj since 2 pm. During the night, the ED office was suddenly converted into a cantonment. It was only after this that speculations were being made about the arrest of Abbas Ansari.
