Lok Sabha Election 2024: The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections witnessed a significant voter turnout across 21 states and union territories, as reported by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The polling, which concluded at 7:00 PM, showcased the active participation of citizens in shaping the democratic process.

Tripura emerged as one of the frontrunners in voter engagement, recording an impressive 79.90% turnout by the end of the voting period. This robust participation reflects the enthusiasm and commitment of Tripura's electorate towards exercising their democratic rights.

Several other states also reported notable voter turnouts

Several other states also reported notable voter turnouts, underscoring the widespread engagement of citizens in the electoral process. Among these, Puducherry recorded a commendable 73.25%, followed closely by West Bengal with a turnout of 77.57%.

Assam, Bihar, Meghalaya, and Manipur were among the states that registered substantial voter participation, with turnout percentages ranging from 65% to 71%. Meanwhile, states like Tamil Nadu, Chattisgarh, and Sikkim also witnessed active voter engagement, recording turnout percentages above 60%.

However, some regions reported comparatively lower voter turnouts. Rajasthan and Maharashtra saw a turnout of 50.95% and 55.29%, respectively, highlighting the need for increased voter awareness and participation in these areas.

Overall, the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections demonstrated the electorate's commitment to democracy and the electoral process. With voting underway in various parts of the country, the focus now shifts to subsequent phases as the nation progresses towards electing its representatives for the 17th Lok Sabha.
