On the second day of Congress Party’s 85th plenary session at Raipur , Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has alleged that the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) had tried to stop the Plenary session by conducting raids at the residences of the Congress workers.
BJP tries to stop the Plenary session by raiding Congress Workers residences
“To stop this Plenary Session, BJP conducted a raid on party workers’ residents. They arrested our workers. But we faced them and held this session.”
Kharge also lambasted the BJP and charged that the ruling party at the centre was conspiring to disrupt the country’s democracy,
“It seems there is a conspiracy to disrupt the country’s democracy by BJP, but Congress trying to unite India.”
Kharge also talked about the recently concluded Rahul Gandhi led, Bharat Jodo Yatra and stated,
“We will face all challenges in the country. Bharat Jodo yatra was like sunshine for the nation. Thousands joined hands with Rahul Gandhi & proved that Congress is still in their hearts. Rahul inspired youth.”
Kharge also called for opposition unity and asked all the like-minded parties to come together,
“We once again look forward to aligning with like-minded parties to defeat BJP. We are ready to make sacrifices.”

Raipur Plenary Initiatives
Proposed Legislation against Hate Crimes
During the Raipur Plenary session, Congress has also proposed legislation against Hate Crimes. The party has promised to pass an Anti-Discrimination Law to prohibit discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, gender of language in the supply of goods and services.
56 Pointer Political Resolution
Congress will also pass 56 pointer political resolution and judiciary will form an important point in it. Party has alleged that Union Law Minister is leading a blatant attack on the judiciary and its independence and integrity will be maintained and protected at all costs.
Resolution on Political, Economic and International Affairs
Media Reports have also stated that on Saturday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi will address leaders and political, economic and international affairs resolution will be passed.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will also release a book and party general secretaries will submit their respective reports.
Thanksgiving statement for former Congress President Sonia Gandhi will also be read out at the session , following which she will deliver her address.
However, on the first day of Congress Plenary session, the steering committee of the party unanimously decided not to hold elections to the CWC and authorized the Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to nominate its members.
