Manipur Violence: Amidst the ongoing violence in Manipur, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi is going to visit the state. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal tweeted on Tuesday (June 27) that Rahul Gandhi would be visiting Manipur on June 29-30. During his visit, he will visit relief camps and interact with civil society representatives in Imphal and Churachandpur.
Venugopal said that Manipur has been burning for almost two months and there is a need for a solution so that the society can move from conflict to peace. This is a human tragedy and it is our responsibility to be a force of love, not hate. Congress and other opposition parties are attacking PM Modi over the ongoing violence in the northeastern state. The opposition alleges that PM Modi is not saying anything on Manipur violence.
Congress demands resignation of Manipur Chief Minister
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday said that the whole country is waiting to hear from Prime Minister Modi on Manipur and he should first sack Chief Minister N Biren Singh from his post. He also urged the Central Government to find a common political solution after holding talks with all the parties in Manipur.
Mallikarjun Kharge tweeted that there is news that finally the Home Minister (Amit Shah) has spoken to Prime Minister Modi on Manipur. For the last 55 days Modi ji did not say a word on Manipur. If Modi ji really thinks anything about Manipur, then first of all sack your Chief Minister. Seize weapons from militant organizations and anti-social elements. Start talks with all parties and find a common political path.
