Mafia Atiq Ahmed has got a big blow from Bahujan Samaj Party. In fact, Shaista Parveen, wife of Atiq, named in the Umesh Pal murder case, is absconding. Samajwadi Party supremo Mayawati, standing with Shaista till now in this whole matter, has made a big announcement. She said that the situation has now changed and her party will not give mayor ticket to Atiq or any of his family members in UP municipal elections.

However, on the matter of ending Shaista’s party membership, Mayawati has made it clear that a decision will be taken in this regard as soon as she is arrested and on the basis of whatever facts come forward.
Mayawati said that till now whatever facts are coming out through the media regarding the murder of Umesh Pal in Prayagraj. In this case, the situation has changed after Atiq’s wife’s name surfaced and she absconded. In such a situation, now our party will neither give mayor ticket to Atiq’s wife nor any member of his family. Apart from this, as far as whether or not to keep Atiq’s wife in the party is concerned, as soon as the police arrest her, whatever facts will emerge about her regarding this case, then it will also be decided soon. Our party is not above the law, our party fully respects the law.
Earlier, Mayawati said that the BSP welcomes the announcement of municipal elections in UP. The party appeals that the Commission should make the elections free and fair and elections should be conducted with ballot paper instead of EVMs.
