Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has hit back at Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra’s “who is Pappu” statement. Mahua Moitra, while targeting the central government, had asked “who is Pappu” now? Nirmala Sitharaman said on that Mahua Moitra has questioned who is Pappu, where is Pappu. She should look in her house, she will find Pappu in West Bengal.
The Union Finance Minister said in Parliament that all macro-economics fundamentals are being questioned. There is no doubt that whenever the best schemes come for the benefit of the common people, West Bengal questions them. They do not implement these schemes in Bengal. You need not go anywhere to find Pappu.
“Who’s holding the match”
Nirmala Sitharaman further said that what is worse is that “in whose hand is the matchbox”. I do not want to go into too much detail on this as she probably wanted to spice up her questions. In a democracy, the public elects the leader. Do not weaken people by saying who has given them power. There was a resounding victory of BJP in Gujarat and see how peacefully the new government assumed power. Compare this with the state elections in Bengal.

What did Mahua Moitra say?
Mahua Moitra attacked the central government in the House on Tuesday (December 13) over its claims of economic progress. You use it to defame others, but statistics show who is the real Pappu. She had said that the President of BJP could not even save his state in the elections, now who is Pappu.
