No Confidence Motion: BJP MP takes jibe at Sonia Gandhi in Lok Sabha

Sonia Gandhi is engaged in “two tasks: one is to see her son settled, and the other is to present her son-in-law,” BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said in Parliament. The BJP MP was responding to the opposition parties’ no-confidence motion after the Manipur violence.

“Why has a no-confidence motion been brought? Sonia ji is sitting here. I think she has two jobs. Bete ko set karna hai aur damad ko bhent karna hai. That is the basis of this motion,” the BJP leader said in Lok Sabha.

He also criticised Opposition MPs for not knowing the whole acronym for INDIA, which denotes the opposition alliance. “MPs here inquire haphazardly about the full form of INDIA,” he observed.

Dubey also mentioned Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi’s conviction in the ‘Modi’ surname issue. He clarified, “The Supreme Court hasn’t issued a verdict. It has issued a stay order. He refuses to apologise. Furthermore, he proclaims ‘I am not Savarkar’. But he can never be Savarkar.”

The BJP leader also criticised the Congress for rejecting the re-inclusion of his comments on the NewsClick news portal into Parliamentary records. The portal is accused of being funded by China.

Prakash Karat, had exchanged numerous emails with Singham: Dubey

“If NewsClick’s name has been reinstated (in yesterday’s speech), what’s your objection? Former leader of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Prakash Karat, had exchanged numerous emails with Singham. I can present them as evidence. CPI-M is an anti-national party,” Dubey asserted.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury claimed that the re-uploading of Dubey’s previously deleted words linking Rahul Gandhi to Chinese money is unprecedented in the history of Parliament.

Chowdhury went on to say that Dubey’s charges were false and that he used derogatory language. “The comments were removed from the parliamentary records following letters from opposition parties to the Speaker,” the Congress’s Lok Sabha Leader noted.

“Our grievances were acknowledged, and such trivial statements were expunged. We were content with that. However, astonishingly, all the issues raised by him that we objected to were restored in the records overnight. This is a first in the history of the Parliament,” he opined.

Dubey went after Rahul Gandhi on Monday, demanding the Election Commission to look into the “funding of Congress by China.”
