PM Modi announces extension of PM mementoes e-auction until Oct 12, urges citizens to take part

The last date for online auction of over 1,200 items, including models of the Ram temple under construction in Ayodhya and gifts presented by Commonwealth Games medalists to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been extended to October 12.

The e-auction, which began on September 17, was earlier scheduled to end on October 2.

“The last date for e-auction of gifts of the Prime Minister has been extended to October 12,” a Culture Ministry official said.

“We are pleased to announce that the date of auction has been extended till October 12, 2022,” the ministry said in a tweet.

In such a situation, when the date of the auction is extended, PM Modi has asked people to take part in it enthusiastically. He tweeted on Friday, “This is one of the many special gifts I have received over the years. Respecting the wishes of the people, the auction of souvenirs has been extended till the 12th. Do take part”.

Union Culture Minister Kishan Reddy had said in a press conference that the statues of Lord Ganesha, the Ram temple being built in Ayodhya and replicas of the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi are also among the gifts presented to the Prime Minister, which will be e-auctioned. He had said that the money received from the e-auction would be donated to the ‘Namami Gange’ mission.
The statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose made by sculptor Arun Yogiraj will also be auctioned. This statue was gifted by Yogiraj to Modi in April.
