Prime Minister Narendra Modi may possibly land in Gujarat on 28-29 November and 2-3 December for door-to-door campaigning. It is expected that they will go door-to-door and distribute voter slips to the voters. It is being told that PM Modi has a program to address eight rallies between 19 and 21 November. Earlier, PM Modi has blessed the newly married couples in a mass marriage ceremony in Bhavnagar. Both the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party have termed Prime Minister Modi's lackluster campaign in Gujarat as a sign of 'frustration of the BJP' or 'nervousness'.
PM Modi is an election brand for BJP in Gujarat
On the other hand, many people involved in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) campaign give a different reason for PM Modi's extensive visits to Gujarat. He says that only PM Modi is an election brand for BJP in Gujarat. Since Anandiben Patel, BJP Chief Ministers in Gujarat have not gained much political importance, be it Vijay Rupani or the current Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Anandiben Patel was removed from the CM's chair despite her decent political stature and made Governor. Because his presence as CM was troubling both Patidars and non-Patidars at a time of caste polarization in the state.
Despite being from the Patidar community, Anandiben Patel became a villain for the community due to the massive crackdown against Patidar reservation during her reign. While for non-Patels she was just another symbol of Patidar political dominance. Vijay Rupani is a Jain from Rajkot and a gentle person. His appointment to the post of Chief Minister did not bother either of the parties. Apart from this, however, he had no political importance. By 2021, Rupani had probably lost its utility and also lost its luster due to the alleged mismanagement of COVID-19. That's why Bhupendra Patel was brought in his place.
Amit Shah and Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil are both very good strategists
Apart from an emotional satisfaction of respect for the Patidar community, Bhupendra Patel has little electoral utility. In many parts of the state, voters do not even recognize him. Even Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil are both very good strategists, but they are not crowd pullers. PM Modi is the only brand of BJP in Gujarat. That's why BJP is trying to take maximum advantage of his appeal.
