Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given an appointment on the issue of caste census, the Prime Minister will meet with the delegation of Bihar in Delhi on 23 August. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said this on Thursday. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude for getting the time from the Prime Minister. Nitish Kumar thanked PM Modi by tweeting. Nitish Kumar had written a letter to the Prime Minister on August 4 asking for an appointment to conduct the caste census. After the Chief Minister, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also wrote a letter to the Prime Minister.

It is worth mentioning that the leaders of the opposition in Bihar, led by Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, met in the Chief Minister's chamber in the Vidhan Sabha on July 30, urging them to write a letter to the Central Government regarding the caste census. The opposition leaders had demanded that the delegation of Bihar, under the leadership of the CM, should meet the PM and talk about the caste census. In this regard, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had also said that if the central government does not conduct caste census in the country, then the Bihar government can consider conducting this census at its own expense. Also, in the past, Tejashwi Yadav had also written a letter to PM Modi urging him to conduct a caste census.
