PM Modi to unveil projects in Meghalaya, Tripura today

The Prime Minister will inaugurate a campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and other projects in Meghalaya’s capital Shillong. The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that these projects include projects in various sectors including housing, roads, agriculture, telecommunications, information technology, tourism and hospitality. After attending a program to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Council, he will preside over a meeting at the Rajya Auditorium building.

Will launch ‘Griha Pravesh’ program

The PMO said Modi will also participate in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the North-Eastern Council and attend its meeting in Shillong. In Agartala, Modi will launch the ‘Griha Pravesh’ program for more than two lakh beneficiaries under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban and Rural’. The PMO said that the North-Eastern Council (NEC) was formally inaugurated on November 7, 1972 and has played a significant role in the socio-economic development of the region by supporting various infrastructure projects and development initiatives.

PM Modi will launch several other development initiatives including four road projects in three states – Meghalaya, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. Along with this, he will inaugurate the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong at Umsawali. The PMO said the Prime Minister will also inaugurate a ‘spawn laboratory’ and an integrated beekeeping development center at the Mushroom Development Center in Meghalaya. Apart from this, he will also inaugurate 21 Hindi libraries in Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura and Assam. Modi will launch projects worth more than Rs 4,350 crore in Tripura.

Will give shelter to millions of people

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of 32 roads with a length of more than 230 kilometers under PMGSY 3 (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana) and launch a project to improve 112 roads covering a distance of more than 540 kilometers. These houses, developed at a cost of more than Rs 3,400 crore, will be given to more than two lakh beneficiariesWith a focus on improving road connectivity, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a project for widening of the Agartala Bypass (Khairpur-Amtali) National Highway-8, which will help ease traffic congestion in Agartala city. During this, PM Modi will also inaugurate State Institute of Hotel Management and Agartala Government Dental College in Anand Nagar.
