Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church in Delhi's Connaught Place on the occasion of Easter on Sunday evening. During this, he prayed and also participated in the prayer mass of the church to be held on the festival. For the first time a Prime Minister attended this church in Connaught Place.
The Prime Minister offered prayers and also planted a sapling in the garden in front of the church. All preparations were done for PM Modi's visit from security to his reception in the church.
Earlier, Father Francis Swaminathan of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church said that all preparations have been made to welcome the Prime Minister. We are very excited about his visit on Easter. He said that as far as he can remember, this is the first time a Prime Minister is coming to this church.
"We are very much looking forward to meeting him. We are glad that the Prime Minister will come here today and pray with us. We pray for him too and he will join us in prayer for all," he added.
Father Swaminathan said that the Prime Minister's visit to the church is in itself a big message. He said that we understand that the Prime Minister cares about this community and it is a big deal for us. The Prime Minister not only says “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas”, but he is moving forward with his principle. We feel that we will always get their support and will move forward taking all castes together.
