Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Directors of various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) today that is on Thursday (July 08) at 11 am.

PM Modi interacted with directors of centrally funded technical institutions through video conferencing. This address of PM Modi took place in view of the corona virus epidemic. Along with PM Modi, the newly appointed Union Education Minister of India Dharmendra Pradhan was also present on this occasion. This program of PM Modi happened a day after the expansion of the cabinet. However, former education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has not been given any ministry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 66th convocation of IIT Kharagpur in February 2021. PM Modi in his address had asked the students to recognize their potential and follow the mantras of self-confidence, self-awareness and selflessness. The PM had said that the most important thing in a student is his confidence, so students should try to move forward with confidence.

PM Modi had also called IITs 'Indigenous Institute of Technology' during that time and said that engineers should have the ability to take things from 'pattern' to 'patent'.
