Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the telephone to King Charles III of Britain for the first time. During this, PM Modi gave his best wishes to the King of Britain for a successful rule. During this, the two leaders discussed a number of topics of mutual interest, including climate action, biodiversity conservation and financing the energy transition. The Prime Minister’s Office gave this information.
According to the PMO, during the talks, Prime Minister Modi discussed several topics of mutual interest. These include climate action, conservation of biodiversity and innovative solutions for financing the energy transition. Apart from this, PM Modi also informed King Charles about India’s priorities for the G-20 presidency, including the promotion of digital public goods.

PM Modi tweeted, “It was a pleasure to talk to King Charles-III of Britain. During this, issues of mutual interest including environmental protection, climate resilience and Commonwealth were discussed. Along with this, we also discussed the priorities of India’s G20 Presidency and the potential of Mission LiFE.”
Discussion on these issues
During the conversation, PM Modi told King Charles about India’s priorities for the G-20 presidency. Apart from this, he gave information about the relevance of Mission LIFE (Lifestyle for Environment). Explain that through this mission, India wants to promote an environmentally sustainable lifestyle. Apart from this, both the leaders exchanged views on ways to strengthen the Commonwealth of Nations and its operations.
He also appreciated the role of the Indian community in the UK in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. Modi also recognized the role of the Indian community in Britain as a “living bridge” between the two countries and a source of enrichment for bilateral relations.
