Prime Minister “nautanki” is the reason behind second wave of covid, claims Rahul Gandhi

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has again warned the central government about Corona. While giving the press conference on Friday, Rahul Gandhi said that the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have not understood the corona. Rahul said that till date he (PM Modi) has not understood that corona is not just a disease, corona is a changing disease.

“The Prime Minister’s ‘nautanki’ is the reason behind the second wave of Covid-19 in India. He did not understand Covid. India’s death rate is a lie. The government should tell the truth,” he said.

“Government needs to change the way it is working, lie and propaganda will not work, lies being spread about the death rate, this is not about politics it’s about saving lives,” Rahul Gandhi said.

Gandhi also said the “permanent” solution to fight the virus was vaccination, and the reason behind India’s poor Covid performance was because the Centre had “no vaccination strategy”.

“The problem is that there is no vaccination strategy. The Prime Minister doesn’t think strategically. He is an event manager, he thinks one event at a time,” Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi said that he and others had warned the Centre of Covid. Rahul Gandhi said, “I and many others warned the Centre about Covid, but they kept mocking at us. The problem is that Prime Minister and the Centre has not been able to understand Covid, it is not just a disease but an evolving disease… the more time it gets… it becomes even more dangerous.”

“Only 3 per cent (of the population) have got the vaccine… we have kept our doors for the virus open, business is being done over vaccination, there are different rates of vaccines. At this rate we will be able to vaccinate our population only by May 2024, otherwise, we will have to face wave after wave,” he said.

“Actual death numbers might be disturbing but we must stick to telling the truth,” he said.

India recorded 1.86 lakh new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, the lowest spike in daily infections in the last 44 days. The number of active cases further declined to 23.43 lakh while over 2.48 crore people have recovered from the virus till now. With 3,660 new fatalities, the death toll is now over 3.18 lakh.
