Rahul Gandhi Bharat Jodo Yatra

Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra is in the final phase of Kerala. After this, the Yatra will start the Karnataka halt on Friday on 30 September. Meanwhile, there is news that posters welcoming former party president Rahul Gandhi have been torn. However, it is not yet clear who did this and why. But Congress leaders are raising questions on Bharatiya Janata Party workers.

Posters were put up to welcome Rahul in the Gundalpet area of the state. Among them were photographs of many leaders including former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, besides interim president Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge. According to media reports, more than 40 posters put up to welcome the yatra have been torn.

It has been 22 days since the padyatra of Congress leaders and workers started on 7 September. After traveling about 450 km in Kerala, the Yatra will enter Karnataka via Chamarajanagar district in Karnataka. Congress leaders will take out a yatra from Kanyakumari to Jammu and Kashmir.

Assembly elections are due in the year 2023 in BJP-ruled Karnataka and the Congress is trying to return to power. Experts say that through the yatra, the Congress is preparing to register its presence at the national level and in Karnataka. It is said that the journey is also very important in terms of preparing the Congress as a strong opposition.

There have been reports of tussle between Siddaramaiah and party chief DK Shivakumar in the state. Rahul has also reached the senior leader's birthday and hugged both the leaders. Now through this yatra, Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar can also showcase their abilities in front of Rahul. However, the former chief minister has remained absent from the yatra so far. Whereas, Shivakumar continued to be seen in the journey.
