Ramayana Circuit Projects Will Strengthen Cultural Ties Between India, Nepal: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda at Hyderabad House today on Thursday, June 1. Bilateral issues were discussed between the two leaders for a long time. After this, both the leaders unveiled the e-plaque of the Kurtha-Bijalpur section of the railway. Both the leaders digitally jointly flagged off the cargo train of Indian Railways from Bathnaha to Nepal Custom Yard. During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, the cultural and religious relations between the two countries are very old and strong. To further strengthen these relations, we have decided that the project related to Ram circuit will be expedited.

In a joint statement after the bilateral talks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, 'Friends, today I and Prime Minister Pranchad ji have taken many important decisions to make our partnership a super hit in the future. Today the transit agreement has been concluded. In this, along with a new rail route for the people of Nepal, a provision has also been made for the facility of India's inland waterways. We decided to increase physical connectivity by setting up new rail routes. It has also been decided to train railwaymen of Nepal in the institutions of Indian Railways.'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi told that today a long term power trade agreement has been signed between India and Nepal. Under this, we have set a target to import 10 thousand MW electricity from Nepal in the coming 10 years. Two more bridges will be built at Sirsa and Jhulaghat to boost connectivity with the far western region of Nepal.

During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also recalled his first visit to Nepal after becoming PM. He said, 'I remember 9 years ago in 2014 when I visited Nepal for the first time. At that time, I had given a hit formula for Indo-Nepal relations, which is Highway, Iway and Transway. I had said at that time that we will build relations between India and Nepal in such a way that our borders do not become an obstacle for us. Today, the Prime Minister of Nepal and I have taken several decisions to make our partnership a super hit.'

During this, Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said, I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve the border issue between the two countries through mutual talks. Not only this, he said, I have invited PM Narendra Modi to visit Nepal. I am hoping that I will get the opportunity to welcome him in Nepal.

Prachanda said, this is my fourth visit to India

Relations between India and Nepal are centuries old. Today we discussed those aspects through which the relations between the two countries can be further strengthened. Today we also launched many projects.
