Shashi Tharoor vs Ashok Gehlot Likely For Congress President

Preparations are underway for the election of the President of Congress. The latest news is that now Shashi Tharoor’s name has also been added to the presidential candidate’s fight. Shashi Tharoor met Sonia Gandhi in Delhi and allowed her to contest the election of Congress President. After this, there is a discussion that Shashi Tharoor may compete with the Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Ashok Gehlot, who is considered close to the Gandhi family, for the post of Congress President. If there is a contest between Shashi Tharoor and Ashok Gehlot, it means that this time the leadership of the party will be in the hands of a non-Gandhi. This means that Rahul Gandhi will not contest the election for the post of party president.

The question has also arisen whether Ashok Gehlot will resign from the post of Chief Minister of Rajasthan after becoming the party president? Will Sachin Pilot be given the command of Rajasthan? Political experts are still unable to digest the fact that Ashok Gehlot has agreed to leave the chief minister’s chair for the post of party president? Is this the reason why Ashok Gehlot is repeatedly forwarding the name of Rahul Gandhi. However, Gehlot has every time tried to avoid the question whether it will affect his politics in Rajasthan.

Gehlot had met Sonia Gandhi at her residence in the national capital a few weeks ago, in which the interim Congress president asked her to be ready for elections. Many believe that Gehlot has the support of the top leadership for the post.

On the other hand, Tharoor is a candidate of the election G-23 group. He enjoys the support of several MPs as he was accompanied by five other MPs writing to the chairman of the Congress’s Central Election Committee, Madhusudan Mistry, demanding that the electoral role be made available to all.
