Sonia Gandhi will travel abroad for a medical checkup

Congress President Sonia Gandhi will travel abroad for a medical checkup. The party said that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will be with her during the visit.

Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a statement, "Congress President Sonia Gandhi will travel abroad for medical examination, before returning to Delhi she will also meet her ailing mother."

Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will travel with the Congress President, the statement said. However, Rahul Gandhi will address the party's rally to be held on 4 September.

Sonia Gandhi has been ill for some time, she has also suffered from Covid twice, due to which she had to stay in the hospital for a long time.

Ahead of the Delhi rally and the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Congress is planning to release a booklet with news conferences of senior leaders in state capitals to highlight the issues of rising inflation and unemployment in the country.

According to Congress leaders, the party will hold press talks for Delhi Chalo, Halla Bol rally on August 29 and then on September 5 for Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The Congress has postponed the Halla Bol rally on its proposed inflation to be held from August 28 to September 4 due to the current Covid situation in Delhi.
