Tamil Nadu Minister's Detention Leads to Medical Emergency, Bypass Surgery Recommended

Senthil Balaji: The Tamil Nadu minister was advised to have a bypass after his incarceration since doctors found three heart obstructions in him. State minister Senthil Balaji underwent a coronary angiography today; bypass surgery is recommended as soon as possible, according to a medical health advisory from Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital, Chennai. In conjunction with a money laundering investigation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched locations connected to Tamil Nadu Power and Excise Minister V Senthil Balaji on Wednesday and then detained him. After a protracted investigation into a cash-for-jobs scheme under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the minister was detained.

Chest Trouble and Hospitalization Amidst Raids and Arrest

The minister was present when the ED began its raids at his home exactly 24 hours prior. When the minister learned that the investigation agency would be arresting him at 1.30 am, he complained of chest trouble and was taken to Omandurar Government Hospital in Chennai. The DMK leader was transported to the hospital while intense drama played out outside. While lying in a car, he was spotted sobbing in anguish as his supporters gathered to protest the ED move. The DMK leader was spotted sobbing profusely inside an ambulance as his followers sang anti-ED chants outside. The physicians noticed changes in his ECG, therefore he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

MK Stalin Visits Senthil Balaji in Hospital, Condemns Investigation Raids

Senthil Balaji was brought to Omandurar Government Hospital in Chennai for a checkup when the Rapid Action Force was activated. Following his imprisonment, Balaji was seen in the hospital by MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu. The DMK chief claimed that Senthil Balaji was under pressure despite cooperating with the investigation team, which caused the chest ailment. Outside the hospital, DMK supporters yelled insults at Governor RN Ravi.Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin met with key ministers and a legal team at his home after Senthil Balaji's detention. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and a number of opposition parties strongly criticised the raids conducted by the investigation agency. The BJP government was criticised by Stalin on Tuesday for "unleashing central agencies" against the DMK minister. In addition to being politically motivated, he claimed that these raids were also disrespectful of cooperative federalism.

Congress President Denounces Late-Night Arrest as Political Harassment

Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, denounced the ED's late-night arrest of Senthil Balaji. His statement reads, "This is nothing but political harassment and vendetta by the Modi govt against those opposed to it. None of us in the Opposition will be intimidated by such brazen moves." Ministers from the BJP and AIADMK, on the other hand, described his chest issue as a "complete drama."
