Uma Bharti takes ‘sanyas’, she will be called as ‘Didi Maa’

BJP leader Uma Bharti announced that from November 17, she will give up all relations. The former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh has now clarified that she took ‘sanyas’ in Amarkantak on November 17, 1992, when her name was changed from Uma Bharti to Umashree Bharti. She told that now on the occasion of completion of 30 years, the BJP leader will now be known as ‘Didi Maa’ as per the advice of her current Guru Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj. Uma Bharti tweeted, “He (Guruji) told me that Bharti belongs to India, be everyone’s didi mother.”

At the same time, she also told that when she retired, her name could not be changed officially as she was a member of Parliament. She further said that “In the family in which I was born, my brothers and nephews supported me a lot in my political journey. She said that in fact, she put her life at stake and faced many issues of false cases during the time of both BJP and Congress. Everyone is progressing on their own. Daughters are in big colleges, daughters-in-law are pilots, doctors, lawyers. But now the whole world is my family. Yes, they are included. Now instead of a family, you are all my family. Now my family is also free from me and I am also free from my family.”

On the political front, Uma Bharti praised Jyotiraditya Scindia and said that I am happy that Scindia is now in BJP. Giving credit to Madhya Pradesh BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya for BJP’s huge penetration in Bengal, Uma Bharti said she is doing a great job for the party. Although Uma Bharti now stays away from active politics, she maintains an active public and political life. On 3 November, as the Election Commission announced the dates for the Gujarat elections, Uma Bharti predicted a massive victory for the party.

On 4 November, Uma Bharti spoke about her retirement on Twitter and said how her retirement ceremony was organized for 3 days in 1992. Rajmata ji, the then Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa and almost all the BJP leaders of the state were present in her retirement. She further said, “Immediately after my initiation, I was given the responsibility of mobilizing the crowd in Ayodhya. Then the incident of December 6 happened. From Amarkantak, I went to Ayodhya where the Babri structure was demolished and from there I was sent to jail along with Advani. The world changed when we came out of jail. Our government has fallen. She said that from 1992 to 2019, we worked hard. I will write about those things in detail sometime.”
