UP CM has decided to issue a global tender for a dose of four crore vaccines

Yogi Adityanath’s government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to issue a global tender for a dose of four crore vaccines.

According to the preliminary assessment conducted by the state Health Department, the target is to target about nine crore people in the age group of 18-44 to be vaccinated.

According to the official spokesperson, “A decision in this regard has been taken by the State Task Force to implement the Covid-19 vaccination program. We need vaccines to be able to cater to this large group of people. ‘

The tender will be in addition to orders of 50 lakh Covid-19 doses, each placed by the state government in the India Biotech and Serum Institute of India.

Officials said that registration for vaccination has started, but in view of global demand, a global tender was urgently needed. He also said that the UP Medical Supply Corporation will tender in a day or two.

Saying that vaccination was a powerful tool, Pandemic Virus, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad said that 1,23,50,426 doses of vaccine have been given to people in the state.

Of these, 22,26,942 have been fully vaccinated. It includes health and front-line workers besides citizens.

In terms of age group, 46,29,191 doses were given to people in the age group of 45 to 60 years, while 42,73,884 were given to those over 60.
