Uttar-Pradesh Government extends ban on strikes for six months under ESMA

The Uttar Pradesh government has put all its employees on the front to bring the situation under control after the diminishing effects of the second-stress period of corona virus infection. Along with this, the government has also implemented ESMA Essential Services Act (Essential Services Maintenance Act).

The proposal of the Yogi Adityanath government to extend this act for another six months has also got the approval of Governor Anandiben Patel. The governor has also stamped this decision of the government. The government took this step in view of the possible strike in the Department of Health and Energy and has extended the ESMA implemented in the state for six months.

The ESMA Act, implemented by the UP government under the Essential Services Maintenance Act 1966, was also approved by Governor Anandiben Patel, after which it was implemented on Thursday. For the next 6 months, no strike will be done on behalf of any government employee. If this act is violated on behalf of government employees, then the government can take legal action by arresting those strikers without warrant.

Under this, the strike has been banned in all public services, authorities, corporations and government departments under the UP government. Additional Chief Secretary Personnel has also issued an order in this regard. Earlier this year, the government had imposed ESMA. There is no hindrance in government work, so the government implements it .
