‘Violence In Kashmir Reduced By 80 Per Cent Under Modi Govt’: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed that during the tenure of the Narendra Modi government at the Center, there has been an eighty per cent reduction in violence in the country in Kashmir. Shah was speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the golden jubilee of a Marathi newspaper in Nagpur.

‘India will reach the top in all sectors in the next 25 years’

Describing the three major objectives of ‘Amritkal’, Shah said that the first objective is to show the sacrifice of freedom fighters in front of the present generation. The second objective is to bring to the public the progress made by the country in the last 75 years, while the third objective is to ensure that India reaches the top in all fields in the next 25 years.

Terrorism in Kashmir, reduction in violence due to extremism in Northeast

There has been an 80 per cent reduction in violence from extremism and left-wing extremism in the Northeast, he said. Before the Modi government, the country had to face internal security challenges due to Kashmir, Northeast and Left Wing Extremism. Shah said, “Today, I can say that under the Modi government, there has been an 80 per cent reduction in terrorism in Kashmir, insurgency in the Northeast and violence from Left Wing Extremism.”

’12 thousand crores invested in Kashmir in the last three years’

Home Minister Shah said, about 1.8 crore tourists came to the Kashmir Valley in a year, which is a big thing. He said that only Rs 12,000 crore was invested in Kashmir in 70 years, but under the Modi government, it got Rs 12,000 crore in just three years. Every house in Kashmir has been provided with tap water and electricity, which is a big change, he said

He said that there has been a significant reduction in militancy in the Northeast and the controversial law Armed Forces Special Powers Act has been removed from about sixty percent of the Northeast. The BJP leader said that Prime Minister Modi’s vision is to see India on top in the world. He said, India is becoming self-sufficient in defense production with 70 per cent self-sufficiency and under the leadership of Modi, the country is turning into a manufacturing hub of the world.

He said that the government is taking such decisions which are beneficial for the people and India will lead the world in hydrogen production in two to three years. Similarly, in the field of satellites, India will go far ahead in four to five years, he said.

He said that Indian start-ups are also proving their potential to the world. The Home Minister praised Modi for his efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus in India and said that his call for Janta Curfew received an overwhelming response. Recalling former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri’s call to skip meals once a week, Shah said Modi was the only leader after Shastri who was listened to by the public in India.

Home Minister Amit Shah, who reached Pune after Nagpur, also interacted with the children of the martyred police personnel of Kashmir. During this he said that I have full faith that Kashmir will be normal. It will be at the forefront of the entire country and people from all over the world will come to Kashmir. Many facilities are now being established there.

He further said that it may take some time to improve the traffic service in Kashmir because of the geography. Despite this, other things are happening there which will firmly connect Kashmir with India. During this, he also warned the people who spread unrest in Kashmir. He said that those who have nefarious intentions in their mind will not be successful.
