A dramatic moment stole the spotlight during Bihar’s voter list protest on Wednesday. As Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav led the opposition’s chakka jam from an open vehicle, MP Pappu Yadav was seen trying to join them, but was stopped by security.
In a video now going viral, Pappu Yadav makes several attempts to climb onto the vehicle, but security guards firmly stop him each time. Eventually, he gives up and walks away. The clip has sparked new questions about the internal politics within the opposition alliance.
Pappu Yadav wasn’t the only leader kept away from the vehicle. Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar was also reportedly denied access. Instead of arguing, he chose to walk behind the vehicle through the crowded streets.
The Janata Dal United (JDU) wasted no time taking a jab at the Congress. Spokesperson Abhishek Jha said that the clip shows how young leaders are treated and claimed Rahul Gandhi was showing who controls the alliance. The incident has added more heat to the already tense political environment in Bihar.

The opposition organised the chakka jam to protest against the state’s voter list verification process, claiming it was unfair. Key leaders from Congress, RJD, Left Front, CPI(ML), and VIP were present, aiming to show unity against the Nitish Kumar government. Mukesh Sahni, D Raja, and Dipankar Bhattacharya also joined the march.
But despite the show of strength, the viral video exposed some visible cracks in the alliance. Pappu Yadav, a popular face in Bihar politics, looked sidelined. Kanhaiya Kumar, once considered Congress’ youth face, was seen walking instead of leading.
The protest caused traffic jams in several areas of Bihar. Protesters raised slogans accusing the government of voter list manipulation ahead of elections. Still, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav waved to the crowds, projecting confidence in their fight.
But behind the unity slogans, today’s visuals have sparked fresh conversations about power struggles within the opposition. Whether this vehicle drama was a simple security matter or a bigger political snub, only the coming days will tell. For now, social media can’t stop talking about Pappu Yadav’s awkward viral moment.
