Kiren Rijiju Viral Video: As Himachal Battles Floods And Rains, Union Minister Calls It ‘Challenging’ To Sing At 15000 Ft, Kangana Ranaut Joins In

While Himachal Pradesh faces one of its toughest battles with floods and landslides, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has unexpectedly caught the internet’s eye. But this time, it’s not for politics, it’s for singing at 15,000 feet with Bollywood stars.

The state is currently reeling under heavy monsoon rains. Over the past few days, cloudbursts and flash floods have hit areas like Mandi, Kangra, Shimla, Kullu, and Sirmaur. At least 51 people have died so far, and in Mandi alone, 34 people are still missing. Rescue teams, including the NDRF and SDRF, are working round the clock.

Singing In Himalayas, Kiren Rijiju Calls It “Challenging”

In the middle of this crisis, Kiren Rijiju was seen enjoying a musical moment during his four-day Himachal tour. He sang at Kunzum Pass, 15,000 feet above sea level, with singer Mohit Chauhan and actress-turned-MP Kangana Ranaut.

The minister requested Mohit Chauhan to sing a song, and the singer responded with Mahendra Kapoor’s timeless track, “Sansar ki har shay ka itna hi fasana hai…” Soon, Rijiju and Kangana joined him, creating a light-hearted moment against the snow-covered peaks. Local leaders Anuradha Rana and Ravi Thakur were also part of the gathering.

Rijiju later shared the video on social media. He admitted how tough it was to sing at such a high altitude. He also added that the thin oxygen made it harder to breathe and sing. Yet, he described the experience as refreshing and a reminder of nature’s power and unpredictability.

But that wasn’t all from Rijiju’s Himachal trip. He also shared a viral video from Taranda Dhank in Kinnaur, one of India’s most dangerous mountain roads. Pointing to the steep valley below, Rijiju joked, “If someone falls from here, forget surviving, you won’t even find their bones.”

Rijiju’s Himachal Tour Include Work On Major Projects

Beyond the musical moment, Rijiju had a packed itinerary. In Keylong, he launched a major sewage system project worth Rs 26.75 crore. He also announced a Rs 200 crore Buddhist Development Plan to help restore monasteries and boost spiritual tourism in Lahaul-Spiti.

Back in Shimla, Rijiju hit back at the Congress party. Addressing an unofficial emergency claim, he said, “If there were an undeclared emergency, Congress leaders would be in jail.”

Rijiju also flagged off projects worth Rs 85 crore for tribal areas. These include a high-altitude sports training centre and adventure sports facilities in Kinnaur and Spiti.
