Rinku Singh Gets Engaged To Priya Saroj In Lucknow, FIRST Pics Out; Akhilesh Yadav, Jaya Bachchan Among 300 Guests

Cricketer Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj got engaged in a private ceremony in Lucknow on Sunday, June 9. The engagement was attended by around 300 select guests, including political heavyweights Akhilesh Yadav, Jaya Bachchan, and Rajeev Shukla.

Before exchanging rings, the couple visited the Chaudhera Wali Vichitra Devi Temple in Bulandshahr to seek blessings. The ceremony was held at Hotel Centrum around noon, with pre-engagement rituals like Bariksha and Godh Bharai taking place earlier in the day. Though low-key, the event had a grand feel due to the presence of several prominent names.

Rinku Singh And Priya Saroj Engaged

Rinku wore a white sherwani, while Priya stunned in a pastel pink lehenga. Their happy faces and warm chemistry were captured in viral videos from the ceremony. One clip showed the couple exchanging rings on stage, surrounded by smiling family members and guests. They also celebrated the occasion by cutting a giant cake.

The guest list included Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, veteran actor Jaya Bachchan, and Congress leader Rajeev Shukla. After the formalities, they greeted the couple and posed for pictures. 

Priya’s father, SP MLA Tufani Saroj, told ANI, “Today is the engagement ceremony, and we are gathered here for the same. We are very happy that Priya Saroj’s engagement is taking place today.”

He also shared how the two met and said, “Rinku and Priya have known each other for some time. They were introduced through Priya’s friend’s father, who is a cricketer himself.”

About The Couple

Rinku Singh, 26, shot to fame in IPL 2023 after hitting five back-to-back sixes in a single over against Gujarat Titans. He became an overnight sensation and a key player for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Born in Aligarh, Rinku is known for his humble beginnings and strong work ethic.

Priya Saroj is already gaining hue attention in politics. At 25, she won the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Macchlishahr, making her one of the youngest MPs in the country. Her father is a well-known political figure in Uttar Pradesh.
