According to Punjab DGP, a case has been registered, and investigations are underway to expose the entire supply chain. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann praised the Punjab Police for their relentless efforts, emphasizing that his government is determined to create a drug-free Punjab. “Our police force is working day and night to break the backbone of narco-terrorism. Such recoveries highlight the commitment of the Punjab Government to save the youth from the drug menace,” Mann said.
Police sources revealed that Punjab remains a prime target for cross-border cartels attempting to smuggle heroin. However, quick and intelligence-driven operations have led to frequent seizures, preventing large consignments from entering the state. The DGP’s office reiterated, “Punjab Police remains fully committed to striking at the roots of organized crime and protecting the people of Punjab from narco-terrorism.”
The Jalandhar recovery once again highlights the scale of the challenge, with drugs worth crores being seized regularly.
