Punjab Health Minister asks vice-chancellor to lie on dirty hospital bed

Punjab’s new Health Minister Chetan Singh Jauda Majra reached the Medical College in Faridkot on Friday for checking. During this he went to the skin ward for checking. There he got angry seeing the torn mattress. Seeing this the college management started making excuses. This raised the minister’s temperature. He asked the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Baba Farid University, Faridkot, who was present there, to lie down on a dirty bed with a torn mattress. The VC lay down on the bed. After this, the Health Minister also took stock of the store room.

“It’s all in your hands, it’s all in your hands,” Minister Jouramajra is heard telling the doctor as soon as he gets up from the bed.

Health Minister Jodamajra has been made the Health Minister this month. Since then, he has been roaming continuously in the field. In the morning he visited the hospital in Bathinda. After this he reached Guru Gobind Hospital in Faridkot for checking. The Health Minister said that he himself wants to see how is the condition of hospitals in Punjab. For this, he will not depend on the paper reports of the officers. Therefore, the officers have to improve the situation at the ground level.

The Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab had earlier made Dr. Vijay Singla the Health Minister. However, he lost his chair within 52 days. CM Bhagwant Mann dismissed him. After registering a corruption case, he got arrested. CM Mann claimed that Singla had asked for 1% commission in every work of the health department.

“Cheap theatrics of Aam Aadmi Party never ceases. Today the Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid Medical University,Raj Bahadur Singh was publicly humiliated by the Health minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra (+2 Pass).This type of mob behaviour will only demoralise our medical staff,” tweeted Congress’s Pargat Singh.
