Punjab News: Political temperatures in Punjab once again heated up as the Aam Aadmi Party launched a sharp attack on the Congress, alleging that the party has historically promoted corruption and nepotism whenever in power.

AAP Punjab, through its official social media handle, accused the Congress of treating government positions like family assets and holding cabinet meetings primarily to distribute jobs among relatives.

Cheema Claims AAP Broke the Tradition of Nepotism

Cabinet Minister Harpal Cheema reiterated that the Mann government has reversed decades of alleged favouritism practiced during previous Congress rule.

Cheema highlighted that the Mann government issued advertisements for 30,000 jobs in its very first cabinet meeting, a move he said marked a complete departure from past political culture. According to him, the employment drive has now crossed 56,000 job opportunities, reflecting AAP’s commitment to transparent governance.

AAP Positions Itself as Clean-Governance Alternative

The statement underscores AAP’s continuing bid to frame itself as the party of honesty, transparency and welfare-driven governance. With employment, corruption, and public service delivery becoming key political battlegrounds, the party aims to distinguish its administration from previous regimes.
