Pushkar Singh Dhami becomes youngest CM of Uttarakhand

BJP MLA Pushkar Singh Dhami a two-time MLA from Khatima sworn-in as the next eleventh Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. At the age of 45, Dhami became the youngest chief minister of the state.

Dhami was administered oath of office by governor Baby Rani Maurya at the Raj Bhavan, Dehradun on Sunday.

Along with him, BJP MLAs Satpal Maharaj, Harak Singh Rawat, Bansidhar Bhagat, and Yashpal Arya also took oath as ministers in the new State Cabinet.

The Uttarakhand BJP legislature party on Saturday unanimously elected Dhami, a two-time MLA from Khatima as its new leader, replacing Tirath Singh Rawat who resigned on Friday night citing constitutional factors.

"We're sure that Uttarakhand will attain new heights of development in the coming period under his leadership," Rawat said.
