River Indie: Electric two-wheeler startup River has revealed the updated cost for the Indie, their first scooter. The Indie, which was originally priced at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) last year, has now increased in price by Rs 13,000, with the prelaunch pricing being limited to the first 1,000 Bengaluru clients. The current price of the electric scooter is Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Read on to know more.

Also, the business has started taking reservations for the electric scooter again. Prior to this year, River discontinued reservations for the Indie following the first round of orders, with interested parties allowed to sign up for waiting until reservations reopened. Rs 2,500 is the fixed booking fee.

River Indie details

A 6.7kW motor powers the Indie, which can go from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.9 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 90 km/h. There are several ride modes available for the user to switch between, with a claimed range of 120 kilometres. The 800-watt portable charger and the upcoming fast charger will be available as charging choices. Along with a 12-litre glovebox and 43-litre under-seat storage, listed features also include an optional top box and hard pannier attachments. Our test drive revealed that the 14-inch wheels on both sides and the comfortable suspension are appropriate for the conditions in India.

The Indie is now Rs 13,000 more expensive than when it was originally released, retailing for Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
