Salman Khan: Salman Khan and his family were threatened repeatedly before he upgraded their vehicle. For the first time ever, Salman Khan was observed in a bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser. Salman Khan owns a number of high-end luxury SUVs, but the Land Cruiser is probably going to be his only vehicle for a while.

Salman Khan and his LC 200

Salman Khan selected the Land Cruiser LC200 from the previous generation for himself. Although Toyota does not produce armoured cars on an OEM basis like many European automakers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Land Rover, and Audi, the SUV may nevertheless have armour added by a number of aftermarket shops.

Many reputable garages offer these specialised services. The vehicles are armoured by companies like Mahindra Armoured Vehicles. Although the precise details of such armour are not known to the general public, these aftermarket producers offer their customers various levels of protection. With ratings like VR9 or VR10, OEM armoured cars provide protection levels that meet international standards.

The armouring tasks are carried out subtly. You might not even be able to tell an armoured car from an ordinary car. There are, however, a number of modifications that show the vehicle is armoured. The thickness of the window glass should be noted as the first of these indicators.

The weight of the armour makes the vehicle heavier, which makes them much slower. The bulky armour and bulletproof glasses add hundreds of kilogrammes to the weight. To handle the added weight, even the suspension has been modified. However, the armoured vehicle seems quite sluggish with the basic engine.

Land Cruiser LC 200 specifications

The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Diesel VX is a powerful SUV that is very high-end and luxurious. It is regarded as the market leader in 4-wheel drive. It is powered by a large 4461 cc engine that produces a maximum torque of 650 Nm at 1600–2600 rpm and a maximum power of 261.4 horsepower at 3400 rpm. The SUV boasts a solid ground clearance of 225 mm and is powered by a 6-speed manual transmission. With a huge 93-litre fuel tank, this SUV competes in its class with expensive behemoths like the Range Rover Sport and Audi Q7.
