Narcotics Control Bureau Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede’s lawyer has sumitted documents to the Bombay High Court in connection to the defamation suit filed by Wankhede’s father against NCP leader Nawab Malik.
Nawab Malik has alleged that Wankhede used fake caste certificates to show his Hindu Scheduled Caste category to get a job under quota.
Advocates Arshad Shaikh and Diwakar Rai, representing Sameer Wankhede, also gave two documents to the court — digitised birth certificate issued by the BMC and caste certificate of Wankhede’s father, Dnyandev Wankhede.
Earlier affidavit submitted by Malik highlighted that “certified copies of documents from Sameer Wankhede’s school wherein his religion is mentioned as Muslim and father’s name is mentioned as Dawood Wankhede.”
