Toyota: Company to launch coupe-like SUV on the lines of Maruti Fronx and Ertiga soon

Toyota: The whole country is waiting for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx to come out. However, Maruti's Japanese partner, Toyota Motor Corporation, is reportedly getting ready to release another car on the same platform later this year. Reports say that the company will build this new car on the same Heartect platform as the Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Maruti Fronx (codename YTB Baleno Cross). Also, the company is working on its version of a cheaper MPV based on the Ertiga, which is one of Maruti's most popular cars right now.

Toyota reportedly codename for this car "A15"

People think that Toyota's next car, which will be built on the Heartect platform, will be about the same size as Maruti's Fronx, but it will have a more creative coupe-like SUV design. According to reports, Toyota's internal codename for this vehicle is A15, and it could be released in the United States by the end of the year.

Most likely, the A15 will have the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged gasoline engine that the Baleno RS used to have. This engine has a peak power of 100 PS and a peak torque of 150 Nm. There is even a chance that Toyota could give this car the same 1.2-liter NA gasoline engine that Maruti Suzuki uses in the Baleno and Glanza. Additionally, it is possible that it will be equipped with an all-wheel drive system.

Toyota is working on an MPV that will be based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

A recent report also says that Toyota is working on an MPV that will be based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. This is another big thing that people are talking about. This new MPV will come in below the new and more expensive Innova Hycross. With this new MPV, Toyota wants to go after a more affordable MPV market and make sure MPVs are successful in the country. Reports say that this MPV also has a codename inside the company, and that name is D23. It is said that this MPV will come out in the middle of this year.

Like with the Urban Cruiser, Glanza, and Urban Cruiser Hyryder before it, Toyota will take the simple Maruti Ertiga and give it a Toyota touch by giving it new bumpers at both ends. Aside from these small changes to the outside, not much will change on the inside or with the way it works. And because of these small changes and the better warranty programme, the Maruti Ertiga could cost more than the new MPV.

This new MPV will probably have the same K15C 1.5-liter DualJet gasoline engine with a smart hybrid system to help it get better gas mileage. The engine in the Maruti Ertiga right now has a max power of 100 PS and a max torque of 136 Nm. It would still come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. If Toyota also decides to make this car available with a CNG engine, it would have 87 PS of power and 121 Nm of torque.
