Two planes collided in the US state of California

On Thursday, two small planes collided in the air in the US state of California. At least two people died in the accident. The collision occurred when the twin-engine Cessna 340 plane was trying to land at the airport.

The incident occurred in the city of Watsonville when two planes were landing at the local airport. Local officials said in a statement posted on Twitter that several people were feared dead in the accident. An investigation has begun into the accident near Watsonville Airport.

The accident happened around 3 pm on Thursday. At that time both private small planes were trying to land at the airport. The US National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the accident, according to the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA).

According to the information and video of the accident viral on social media, the debris of two small planes is visible in the ground around the airport. One photo showed a plume of smoke rising from the road near the airport. The plane was also seen entering a warehouse-like construction located at the airport.
