Ukraine apologizes for Kali tweet, says country respects Indian culture

More than a year has passed since the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The cities of both the countries were destroyed by this war.

Meanwhile, Ukraine did a shameful act with India and the people of India. In fact, a few days ago, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine had shared a photo on Twitter, which hurt the religious sentiments of the countrymen. Since then Indians got angry with Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine had made a tweet on 30 April. It purportedly showed an image of Goddess Kali above a plume of smoke. In the tweeted picture, Maa Kali’s tongue was seen sticking out along with a garland of skulls around her neck. @DefenceU, the official Twitter handle of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, tweeted this and wrote in the caption “Work of Art.” After this shameful act done by Ukraine, Indians got angry on Ukraine and asked to delete it.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry has now removed the tweet after Indian users objected to it. On this shameful act of Ukraine, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emin Dzepar has apologized to the Indians.

He said in a tweet that “we are sorry for presenting a fragmented image of the idol of the Hindu goddess Kali on the tweet of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.”

Emin further wrote that Ukraine and its people respect the unique Indian culture and highly appreciate India’s support. We have already deleted that tweet.
