UP CM: No Meat Sale In Open On Kanwar Yatra Route

While reviewing the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that one has to be constantly alert and careful in view of upcoming festivals and festivals including Bakrid, Shravan month, Kanwar Yatra. He asked the officials to deal with those issuing mischievous statements with a “zero tolerance” policy and strict action should be taken against those trying to vitiate the atmosphere.

CM Yogi stressed on the identification of places in advance for sacrifice on the upcoming festival Bakrid and said that there should not be any sacrifices, especially in disputed places.

The Chief Minister reviewed the law and order situation in view of Bakrid, Nag Panchami, Raksha Bandhan, Shravan month, Kanwar Yatra. With all Zonal Inspectors General of Police, Divisional Commissioners, Police Commissioners through video informed about this.

According to a government statement, CM Yogi received information from the officials about the preparations, action plans and arrangements in view of upcoming festivals and festivals including Bakrid, Shravan month, Kanwar Yatra.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister stressed that the spot for sacrifice for Bakrid should be identified in advance and said that there should be no sacrifice at disputed places, news agency PTI reported.

“On Bakrid , there should be an action plan for systematic disposal of waste after sacrifice,” he said.

“It should be ensured that the sound of music is as per the prescribed standards and only religious songs and hymns are played. There should be no display of weapons in religious processions and there should not be any incident which hurts the sentiments of people of other religions,” he said, as per PTI.

The Chief Minister directed that meat should not been sold in the open anywhere on the Kanwar Yatra route. The heat is strong so arrangements for drinking water should also be made on the way and health posts be set up at various places on the Kanwar Yatra route, he said.
