Viral: Police warns parents to be vigilant over menacing cartoon character

Cartoon characters are meant for the entertainment of children, but some can also be harmful. The police of the United Kingdom has issued an alert regarding one such cartoon character. The police have asked the parents to be alert to the cartoon character named ‘Huggy Wuggy’.

According to the report published in our affiliate website ‘WION’, this cartoon character does not look harmful, but is a dangerous character. One who thrills children with his jumping methods and is motivated to do so can cause damage to the spinal cord.

This cartoon character was launched in 2021. It is a blue bear with sharp teeth and curly hair and appears in the cartoon show Poppy Playtime. Regarding this, the South-West England Police of the United Kingdom has warned that parents should prevent their children from watching the video of this character.

Police says that after watching these videos, there can be a negative effect in children. These include being afraid of children, getting upset and having nightmares and many more. This character also has a horror video game. This game with PEGI12 rating is available on the app and Android Store.

Hartlepool’s West View Primary School said in a statement that in the video, the bear tells viewers to take their last breath. This is a very deceiving character. Catcott Academy in Hartlepool says that because of the name, youth are following this cartoon. In such a situation, when your child is online, parents should pay more attention.

According to Beth Buxton, who has two daughters and a son, “He got to the stage where he didn’t know the difference between reality and gaming. He tried to climb up my bedroom window, saying he would die and come back to life telling me that’s what Huggy Wuggy does.”

“We have banned Roblox and put locks on YouTube. I have window locks being installed next week because he is still thinking about it. There are numerous terrifying characters in these games,” she told Sky News.

“He was going into school talking about killing and guns as if it was happening at home.”

“In one of the videos, the bear asks the viewer to take their last breath. It is a very deceiving character, as hugs should be seen as something kind and love and because of its name is able to infiltrate firewalls and filters,” said Hartlepool’s West View Primary School in a statement.
