Want youth to be job 'providers' not job 'seekers': CM Bhagwant Mann

The government is coming up with new employment opportunities for the youth in Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday said that his government would do everything possible to make youth independent. He said that the government would give full cooperation to the youth in starting new business and they should become job creators instead of job seekers.

In a video message, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said his government would organize 'Naujawan Sabha' (youth meeting) twice a month, during which youth would be able to share their business ideas and seek necessary help. The youth should not become someone's job provider but should become a job provider.

CM Bhagwant Mann said that "I don't know why we are going away from studies. The enrollment in Punjab Technical University is just 34-35 per cent. Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar has over 40,000 students, but among them Only 5,200-5,500 are from Punjab. He said that new platforms will be created for the youth in Punjab.''

Government will support startups

CM Bhagwant Mann said that the Punjab government would provide all facilities to the youth. We will not let your ideas remain undeveloped due to lack of funds. The government will provide you money. You set up start-ups and start small businesses. I want that the youth of Punjab should be job givers and not job seekers. The Chief Minister has asked the youth to become their own role model.

CM Bhagwant Mann said that the Punjab government has decided that we will discuss with you. 'Naujawan Sabha' will be organized twice a month and we will meet youths who want to do something and have different ideas. The government will help them to develop. If the youth of Punjab want to do anything in transport, agriculture or any other field, the government will help them.
