West Bengal SSC Scam: Minister Partha Chatterjee Arrested

Partha Chatterjee Arrested: Partha Chatterjee, a minister in the Mamata Banerjee-led government in West Bengal’s education scam, has been arrested. Along with this, Arpita Mukherjee, who is said to be close to her, has also been taken into custody by the ED.

ED officials are currently questioning him. At the same time, after the interrogation of the last 26 hours, ED has arrested Partha Chatterjee.

On Saturday morning, Partha Chatterjee has cited poor health. After this, a team of two doctors also reached his residence for treatment.

According to the information, Partha Chatterjee is being taken for medical after arrest. Parth will be taken to the CGO Complex in Kolkata.

The house of Arpita Mukherjee, considered close to Education Minister Partha Chatterjee, was raided by the ED on Friday. Cash worth Rs 20 crore was recovered from her house. The ED also questioned her. After this, she was taken into custody on Saturday morning. In fact, on the instructions of the Calcutta High Court, the team had reached the house of Partha Chatterjee, accused of the West Bengal School Service Commission recruitment scam.

Apart from Arpita, the ED had raided many other places. Names like Manik Bhattacharya, Alok Kumar Sarkar, Kalyan Moy Ganguly are included in this list. The connection of all of them came to the fore in the Bengal education recruitment scam. But the biggest action has been taken against Arpita.

The ED also seized 20 phones from Arpita’s house during the raid. It is not yet clear what Arpita used to do through those phones, but the ED has also included her in its investigation.

There are more people on ED’s radar. Raid continues against them too. The ED has not been able to reach the lower level officials. It is feared that he may be absconding.
